Free Loan EMI Calculator Online

A free loan EMI calculator takes your loan amount, annual interest rate, and tenure (in months or years), then shows monthly EMI, total interest payable, and total amount paid. Switch between diminishing (reducing balance — banks) and flat rate (common on bike/car dealer pages). It also shows an amortization breakdown of principal vs interest each month — no signup, runs in your browser.

Plan home loans, car loans, bike loans, or personal loans in seconds. Enter principal, annual rate, and tenure in years or months. Choose diminishing interest (standard bank formula) or flat rate (often used on vehicle dealer EMI quotes). Get monthly EMI, total interest, total repayment, a principal-vs-interest bar, and a full amortization table. Free, no signup, nothing uploaded.

Diminishing (reducing balance): monthly rate r = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100; EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n ÷ ((1+r)^n − 1). Flat: total interest = P × annual% × (months÷12); EMI = (P + interest) ÷ n, with principal and interest split evenly across months. All math is plain JavaScript with no backend.

How to Use Loan EMI Calculator

  1. Choose Diminishing (bank-style) or Flat (dealer-style) interest
  2. Enter the loan amount in rupees
  3. Enter the annual interest rate (e.g. 8.5 for 8.5%)
  4. Choose tenure in Years or Months and enter the value
  5. Review monthly EMI, total interest, and the amortization schedule

When Would You Use This?

Home buyers comparing bank offers use Diminishing mode to match how banks actually charge reducing-balance interest.

Shoppers checking a bike or car dealer EMI quote switch to Flat mode — many vehicle pages quote flat interest on the full principal, which is why their EMI often differs from a bank calculator.

Anyone refinancing or prepaying can scan the amortization table to see remaining balance by month and estimate interest saved — complementary to GST and income-tax tools already popular with Indian users.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this EMI calculator free to use?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no login, no payment ever.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. Enter loan details and see EMI results immediately.
Is my data safe?
Everything runs in your browser. Loan amounts and rates are never uploaded to our servers.
What is the difference between diminishing and flat interest?
Diminishing (reducing balance) charges interest only on the remaining principal each month — this is what banks and NBFCs use. Flat charges interest on the full original principal for the whole tenure, then divides (principal + interest) into equal EMIs. The same advertised rate usually produces a higher EMI and more total interest under flat rate. Many bike and car dealer pages use flat rate.
What formula does diminishing EMI use?
EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n ÷ ((1+r)^n − 1), where P is principal, r is monthly interest rate, and n is number of months.
What formula does flat EMI use?
Total interest = principal × annual rate% × (tenure in years). Monthly EMI = (principal + total interest) ÷ number of months.
Can I enter tenure in years or months?
Yes. Switch between Years and Months, then enter the tenure. A 5-year loan is treated as 60 months.
What is the amortization schedule?
It lists each month’s EMI split into principal and interest, plus the remaining balance. Under diminishing, early months have a higher interest share; under flat, the split is even every month.
Does this work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, EMI and amortization calculations work fully offline.
